The images
on Christian Hermit are from a recent stay in the Arizona
Desert.
The way I came up with the name "Christian Hermit" was not
from knowing that such a thing existed. As I sat thinking
about this recent month spent in the Desert, I thought, you
know, I am a Hermit. My next thought was, I am a Christian.
When I put the two together, I came up with, Christian
Hermit.
At the time I had no clue that there are volumes of history
written on this very subject. I learned that this is also a
term used for the Church Fathers , and also The
Desert Fathers and the Desert Hermits.
I since learned that many have been offended at me using this
title. Please don't be offended, I am not using this term to
associate myself with any religious Icons you may have formed
or worshipped. This term means nothing more to me than the
fact of what I personally am.
I will be sharing the story of the events that took place
this past summer during a trip to the wilderness of the
Arizona Desert. I ended up spending a month there. You can
click on the picture link at the top of the page for larger
views of the images.
The way this visit all came about goes back many years. For
years the Lord had been telling me to go to the Desert. I was
in rebellion for many years until I finally obeyed in the
summer of 2008.
Turns out that this just happened to be one of the hottest
and longest summers in Arizona. The Booth you see in the
pictures was built for some extra shade. I purposely left
space between the Ocotillo branches so when the wind would
blow it would penetrate the Booth.
I was fully aware before I departed on my journey that The
Lord was going to clean me up when I arrived. I knew He would
be applying His Rod, and He did.
I'll tell you a short story about Shepherds and how they
handle unruly Sheep. The Shepherd knows the danger that awaits
Sheep when they wonder off from the fold. When this does
happen, the Shepherd will locate the Sheep and hit it with his
Rod and drive it back to safety.
However, if a Sheep does not learn eventually from the
application of the Rod, the Shepherd will break the leg of
this unruly Sheep. This may sound cruel, but when weighed
against death, it is appropriate.
The Shepherd will then carry the Sheep on his shoulders until
the leg has healed. When the Shepherd releases this Sheep it
will stay close to the Shepherd because he/she has learned
that it is painful to do otherwise. He/She has also grown
closer to the Shepherd as he carried it for so long.
This story will help you understand the following Bible
Verses.
Mar 9:43-50 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is
better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two
hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be
quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not
quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is
better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet
to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be
quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not
quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is
better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye,
than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their
worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. For every one
shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted
with salt. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his
saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in
yourselves, and have peace one with another.
As a Christian, I have watched as over the years,
Christians
have traded their relationship with God,
for knowledge. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with
godly knowledge, but when this pursuit of knowledge does not
yield a closer relationship with the Lord, something is very
wrong.
An example of this is a Lens I built at Squidoo.com on healing.
I get very heavy traffic to this Lens, and I am able to view
the keywords and phrases my visitors use to find the site.
What I have learned is very interesting; 99% of my visitors
are not looking for the "Healer" they are looking for a Bible
Verse to quote.
This attitude has caused the Churches to lose true healing.
They can quote the Bible and all the verses, but there is
little fruit if any in their lives.
Does this all remind you of a story found in the Book of
Genesis? Adam and Eve had such a relationship with God that
God would come down and literally walk with them. When they
chose to seek the knowledge of God rather than be happy with
the relationship they already had with God, they lost their
relationship. Now, with these modern day Teachers in the
Churches, multitudes of Christians have fallen prey to Satan's
old lie.
A Word About Righteousness
To justify your ungodliness, your wickedness, and
unrighteousness, will you continue to side with those who say
that good can come from evil? Will you be one that continues
to believe that light can proceed from one who commits deeds
of darkness?
Are we a generation so blind that we did not see the
Messengers sent by God, the Holy Angels who came to spy upon
the people of this wicked generation and return with their
report to the Father?
Did even one of us hear their report when it was delivered to
the Father? And who is it among us in this hour that
understood the reply of God to these Messengers? He did not
say a Word as He sat down upon His Throne, but what is this
Book in His Hand? And what are we to think of this Book which
is sealed with seven seals?
There is a cry from the Throne of Heaven at this very moment;
Render unto Caesar (Satan) the things that are Caesar's
(Satan's), and unto God the things that are God's.
And how will this Mighty God discern between what belongs to
Him, and those who follow the god of this world? If God is to
make this judgment based on the confession of a mans lips
alone, then God must also judge Christ himself a liar, for
Christ taught this;
Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my
Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day,
Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy
name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful
works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Luke 6:46-49
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I
say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and
doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like
a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the
foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream
beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for
it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth
not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house
upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently,
and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
In the face of all that the Apostle Paul wrote, many can not
understand why James, the Brother of Jesus, said;
James 2:14-26
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath
faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother
or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of
you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are
needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if
it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may
say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith
without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the
devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O
vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham
our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his
son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his
works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the
scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and
it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called
the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is
justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not
Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the
messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the
body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is
dead also.
This saying of James appears to many to fly right in the face
of all that Paul taught concerning faith and salvation, but a
closer look at the teachings of Paul will disclose something
very different than what has been taught in the Church since
the time of the Reformation caused by Martin Luther.
The majority of Christians today are following the
ancient way in which Mr. Luther formed his opinions from the
Word of God. Luther's opinions were derived from taking Bible
verses out of their context and then putting these dissected
Bible verses together in such a way as to form their own
context or book.
Those who follow Luther have this common trait, they run from
verse to verse in the Bible, collecting these several verses,
compiling them, and then forming their opinions and doctrines
based on Bible verses that have been ripped out of
their original setting and placed in an entirely new setting,
a context of their own and separate from the true Word of God.
Another little bit of history Christians need to know about
Martin Luther is that whenever Luther came across something in
the Word of God that did not agree with his new doctrine, he
would simply remove the book from the Bible. One of the last
straws for the council he had created to oversee this wicked
work, was when Luther went to this council and requested their
support to remove the book of James from the Bible.
Finally, this council told Luther that there was no way they
would support ripping the Lord's Brothers' book from the
Bible. The council had finally seen a part of Luther that they
did not like. The other books that Luther disagreed with and
had ripped from the Bible remain missing from most Christian
Bibles to this day.
In this evil day in which we now find ourselves, you are not
going to find the true anointed Minister of God on any of your
television channels. You will not find the true anointed
Minister of God searching through the great authors of books.
You see, the true anointed of God are despised in this day
and hour, they are rejected by the so-called spiritual leaders
of our day. The massive numbers of individuals among us who
declare that they are Christians, refuse the light of the
spiritual but cling in droves to those who exalt darkness and
wickedness. Those among us who declare that they are light but
walk in darkness are the Pharisees and Hypocrites of this
hour.
The majority of Ministers in this wicked hour remain silent
concerning the unrighteous condition of the Church, but Is the
Lord also silent when it comes to the condition of the Church
at the time of the end?
The answer to this question can be found in the book of
Revelations.
